How to use My Wants to request products you can't find

Can't find what you need on the marketplace? Submit a request and RxPost will notify you when a product matching your description becomes available on the marketplace. 🔎 Here's a step-by-step guide to submitting and managing your wants.

⏱ Time to complete: ~2–3 minutes

✅ Step 1: Search for the product

Search the Marketplace for the product you need, by name or NDC.

  • If your desired product does not populate in the search, you can click Submit Request

✅ Step 2: Fill out your want

A short form will open with the product you searched for already filled in.

  • Strength and dosage form: if you search a medication name, you will be asked to specify strength and dosage form

  • Quantity: how many packages you need

  • Stop looking on: the date you'd like us to stop searching

​Are you flexible or unsure about the exact product?

👉 Include the strength and dosage form, or the NDC, whenever you can. If you choose "Post without them — our team will confirm," we'll reach out to clarify and confirm your needs.

Optional fields

  • Target price: a guideline for what you'd like to pay. We'll still show you matches priced above it, and you're never obligated to buy

  • Notes: anything our team should know. Only RxPost staff can see your notes

  • When you're done, click Post With These Details

✅ Step 3: Check your confirmation

After you submit, you'll see a confirmation and be provided your request confirmation number.

👉 If you already have an open request for the same product, we'll open the existing one & give you the opportunity to make any edits instead of creating a duplicate.

✅ Step 4: Buy when it's listed

When a matching listing goes live, you'll get an email and a notification in the bell icon 🔔.

  • Click the notification to go straight to the product

  • Add it to your cart and check out as usual

⚠️ Important:

  • Listings aren't held for you. Any pharmacy can buy them, so check out as soon as you can

  • Your target price isn't binding for you or the seller. Review the price before you buy

✅ Step 5: Manage your wants

Click My Wants from the menu, next to Marketplace, to see every want you've posted.

Use the tabs at the top to filter your list:

  • All: every want you've posted

  • Open: wants we're still looking for

  • Fulfilled: wants you've bought

  • Closed: wants you cancelled or that reached their stop-looking date


From My Wants you can:

  1. Edit a want to change the quantity, target price, or stop-looking date, or to add a missing strength

  2. Cancel a want you no longer need

  3. Re-post a closed want in one click. A re-posted want joins the line as of today

👉 You can have one open want per product and up to 25 open wants at a time.
